Made from bioplastic. The body surface and mechanism of the DS3 Biotic Pen are manufactured from 100% renewable raw materials. For the DS3 Biotic Pen “Sand” this includes polyactide (PLA) and wood-plastic composites (WPC). The complete writing instrument (incl. refill and spring) is up to 75% biodegradable. Please note that bioplastics react more strongly to environmental factors such as heat, light, pressure and moisture. Complies with the EN 13432 standard for the compostability of bioplastics.

With the DS8 True Biotic, Prodir is setting new standards in the use of sustainable materials. The casing (body, clip and push button) is made from plastic-free, biobased biopolymers (PHA) that are also biodegradable. Micro-organisms synthesize PHA through fermentation and break it down again in the sea, fresh water or the soil – something they have been doing in all natural environments for millions of years. With the QS40 True Biotic, we're taking another important step forward. Its casings are made from biobased, non-toxic biopolymers (PHA) that biodegrade easily under natural conditions - in sea and soil, for example. Creation and decomposition follow the natural carbon cycle of nature.
